Take A Tour

Take a visual tour of our hospital

We welcome you into our beautiful animal hospital. Dr. Ranzinger built this facility in 2001. We are all very proud of our clinic and we strive to create a pleasant experience for our clients, staff and four-legged friends.

Lobby

Short wait times are a priority even though our lobby is spacious and comfortable. Be sure to check out the “Cozy Coffee Corner” for coffee, hot chocolate, tea and cookies.

We dispense a wide variety of Prescription pet foods. We also carry medicated shampoos and rinses, and many different dental care products. Our knowledgeable staff is more than happy to discuss any of these products with you.

Pharmacy

We also maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, heartworm and parasite preventatives to meet the needs of your pet.

Exam Rooms

Our exam rooms are clean and spacious. After your check-in at the front desk, you and your pet will be settled into an exam room as quickly as possible.

While in the exam room, the doctor, with the help of a technician, will do a full physical exam as well as discuss any concerns or questions that you may have with your pet. Most pets are thrilled that we can take their temperature with an ear thermometer rather than the old-fashioned way! Some of the items that may be discussed at the time of your pets’ exam, is as follows:

  • Individualized Parasite Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation and exposure. We will review with you the best ways to control external and internal parasites.
  • Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet’s nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
  • Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Treatment Room

This is our Treatment Room. It is the largest area of the hospital and it is where all of the excitement takes place. Most of our hospitalized surgical and medical patients are resting in this room. This environment allows every member of our veterinary team several opportunities to observe & interact with your pet.

  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets’ complete health care needs.
  • Electrocardiography Services: We provide EKG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists. Other specialty diagnostics, such as abdominal ultrasounds, and echocardiograms are available at our clinic by appointment for our patients. These diagnostics are performed by veterinarians who specialize in this type of imaging technique.

Many large windows allow a bright & cheery atmosphere and we have enhanced our workspaces with several vibrant flowers & plants.

In-Clinic Laboratory

Laboratory: Our laboratory offers a wide variety of on-site services, including serum chemistry, hematology, serology, cytology, urinalysis and parasite testing.

In-house, we use the Idexx Catalyst, VetLyte, and ProCyte analyzers which allow us to perform chemistry panels, complete blood cell counts, and electrolyte levels.

We also work with outside laboratories to perform more specialized diagnostics and consultations, including Marshfield, Antech, Idexx, and the University of Minnesota.

Anesthesia and Surgery

Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.

Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient’s vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.Your pet’s vital signs will be monitored by their EKG, heart rate, pulse oximetry, internal body temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and carbon dioxide levels. Additionally, a trained veterinary technician will manually and visually monitor your pet during surgery and recovery.

Your pet will wake up wrapped in a warm blanket with a staff member available to provide comfort. We will provide pain management for your pet prior to waking up. Preventive pain management has been proven to be the best method of providing pain relief.

Comfort Room

The bond between you and your pet is very important to us.  We realize that when your pets are sick it is a stressful time for you and them.  We offer a quiet “comfort” room for you to spend time with your hospitalized pet or to have a consultation with the veterinarian.

Humane Euthanasia: When the time comes to say goodbye to our beloved pets, the comfort room also serves as a place for pet owners who choose to be present for their pets’ humane euthanasia.
